lies, lbs, and COFFEE!

so has anyone seen "lie to me"?

i'm obsessed. as in i watched all of season 1 yesterday. in one 24 hour period. and i can tell you this: it took a lot less than 24 hours. :)

onto the lbs. the 5 of them that i lost! woohoo. wish i could reward myself with something... like buttery popcorn and pumpkin crunch (which i'll be making for bible study this week. i'm in desperate need for something autumn-y and don't want to keep the leftovers at my house!)

speaking of autumn... i want to go out and buy all the fall scented candles ever known to man, bake apple crisp and pumpkin pie, put orange, grey-green, and white pumpkins all over the house. i want gourds and candy corn. i want leaves and a mantle i could decorate with them. but i probably won't buy all that stuff... except the candles. i am getting some TODAY!

also, here are the projects i am trying to complete sometime soon:

-knobs in dresser

-serving tray modge podged and painted

-empty frames on the wall

-frame with bird in it (made out of fabric)

-spray paint mirror and frames (that will go on fram wall)

-design photo blog and PICK A FREAKIN LOGO

-wall shelves up and decorated in our bedroom

whew... that just seems daunting. sigh.

hi hubzy! thanks for making dinner for me. i love the weather being cool enough to open the door while dining. (notice i call it dining instead of eating. instant class.)

okay friends. here it is. i have officially began drinking coffee. for those of you who don't know... i have historically hated coffee. as in, when my parents would offer to pick me up something at starbucks, i'd say no thanks. (to a free 5 dollar drink!) BUT the other night i decided to re-try it with some caramel flavored coffee and creamer (at this point i want my coffee to taste like a dessert, okay?) friends... i had to pull out the instruction manual to figure this out. :) but i conquered it and now enjoy it! (decaf only, please!)

my blog has become a once a week update. how lame. i'm not going to apologize, because i'm not real sure how many people actually feel as if they are missing out, but i DO want to be more regular!

first, i will have to put off the reveal of my dresser. the knobs i bought were too short and i am waiting until they are on sale again to get new ones! i still need tips on painting furniture... how many coats of poly should i have used? do i need to sand in between coats?

anyway. i know that wednesday is supposed to be healthy post day. and while i've sneakily sidestepped that issue for the past 2 weeks, i actually have some progress this week. not any numbers, but progress! Been really limiting my carbs and increasing my consumption of protein, fruits, and veggies! yay team!

now, lets get down to the title of the post... my etsy love. i've been looking for christmas gifts (no, it is never too early) on etsy and discovered a plethera, an array, a LARGE AMOUNT of things i am now obsessed with. drumroll, please:

list wednesday? boo....

okay, i think i want to make wednesday into "list" day. i think that sounds really boring... but probably b/c i just need a new name for it... right?!? so basically it'll be kind of like letterman or leno... or whoever does those count down lists. only mine will be whatever topic i want and contain as many number bullets as i want.

(please help me come up with a cute name. or i will waste 5 hours of my day doing it myself.)

well before i detail the current events, can i just share a recent obsession? they also totally inspired me to start blogging again. and so now i will begin the recap of the past month.

we got a dog! we are now proud parents of a mutt. his name is jacob. (anyone a twilight fan? :) we're not. because we hate edward. so we clearly stand on team jacob's side) he is beautiful, but annoyingly terrified of EVERYTHING. also, he can chew through any stuffed toy in 3 minutes flat. and he has chewed through my embroidered sky ranch blanket and begun work on trevor's heirloom quilt. grrrrr. picture below:

man i'm loving photography! did two engagements over easter. I'll post my faves from both when i'm done. i learn SO much each time! and, (drum roll music, please!) Trevor and I will be participating in photo 365 in my quest to use my camera at least everyday! starting NOW:

Beka came to visit me!!! she helped me with the table and trunk. from picking them up at goodwill to painting them. we also enjoyed much fattening food and crappy movies. i just need to say how much i love her. without a doubt one of my closest friends... regardless of how much we talk. plus she gets to hang out with all the christian royalty in dallas. here is just a few pictures from her shoot. haha, love it.

lastly, GET COMMUNITY. if you don't have it, get it. i am a different person without it. i have women who challenge me, love me, and who just want to know me. i cannot express my gratitude for the amazing girls that live around here. it is so crazy to see how the Lord brings people together and such a blessing when the unity glorifies him. man. what stirs my heart for the Lord? talking with other people who want the same thing... the Lord did not create us to live alone, to be alone with our thoughts, or figure out life...alone. we were created for intimacy. and i tend to forget that when intimacy gets annoying. but that little bit of annoying is worth the end result of maturity, feeling (yes, FEELING) of love, and accountability that ushers you to surrender and selflessness. i mean, i'm just sayin... the lord blesses us when he knows we need it most, and i needed this. thanks jman. (jesus duh!)

we want to go on a kick a vacation for our one year anniversary. we've looked at patagonia, europe (too cold during december/january) and are beginning to look at tropical locations. So, team, here is where you come in. Where should we go? What should we do? Here are the parameters: no where cold (during december/january) and no mexico (danger! danger!). okay, ready, set, go!!!

ARKANSAS... family and pictures

HOTTIES mishayla and kylan were super sweet to let me practice on them. we went around siloam springs, AR and took several pics. let me tell you, that small little town has BALLER scenery and vintage-like backgrounds. i LOVED it.

sooooooooooooo this past weekend was spentin AR with trev's fam. i'll give you the highlights.

1. Trev's fmaily reunion/christmas in oklahoma. we played dirty santa/white elephant and it was real fun. we got the BIGGEST jar of Tony's cajun seasoning i've ever seen, some shish-kabob skewers, a flip jar, hot sauce, and a cute dish towel. additionally i got to meet aunt camillie who made the most wonderful pineapple cake EVER. if anyone has a good recipe for one (it has to have good topping/icing/drizzle) PLEASE PLEASE send me one.

2. Early Birthday Date Night - a NIIIICE restaurant in fayetteville called Theo's with a fun atmoshpere, some after dinner dixon street perusing, and a surprise hotel room! he's so sweet! :)

aaaaaaaaaand today was the first day on the job. real low key since i'm not set up yet to access the databases i need... so i didn't do much. but i have a desk, phone, email (rebeccaj@skyranch.org), voicemail, and temporary computer! ha. so it kinda felt like i was hanging around sky ranch rather than working, bu everyone told me it will soon change! :)

can i also just list a few recent OBSESSIONS?
-mitch hedburg. old comedian who everyone probably has heard of, minus me. until this weekend. please listen to some of his stand up if you haven't. you will NOT regret it.
- GREEK. priemere tonight! holla. it has been a straight ADDICTION on hulu for the past 2 weeks.
-eating food that goes over my weight watchers points. tsk tsk. but i'm BACK ON! so lets do this thing and lose this thing!d

lastly, please pray for trevor and i as we try to get up the energy/desire to find a good church close to our community. we've kinda been flaky lately (mainly me) and i'm nervous about trying all of them and not liking a single one. i need to be disciplined about getting up and trying them out. however, i'm just not. so, prayer needed. we want deep community, rooted in biblical truth. i feel like i just don't see it even when it does exist, because it requires work to get involved. basically just laziness, lack of fervor. i need someone (namely, jesus) to come destroy that in me.

also, if anyone wants to get in front of my camera for fun, please let me know, i would LOVE to get some more practice in!
