oh austin, my love...

my favorite city: austin
i want to live in: austin
my sister makes me jealous because she lives in: austin
lusting over: austin
i would marry: austin

i won't go on. just know that i really love this city and i wish i was there RIGHT. NOW.

i went for a weekend with the fam a couple of weeks ago. never got around to posting about it. because i'm incredibly inconsistent and "busy" with laying on the couch watching Angel. i know, you are totally jealous of my life right now.

anyway, there are just a few photos i took before my memory cards randomly reformatted and wouldn't let me take any more pictures... weird.

sis and i at a yummy lunch place. why so yummy you ask? three words: sweet. potato. fries.

hubz ani on sister's front "porch". she has a pretty sweet apt. though VERY tiny, it has a great view of austin.

toy joy. that;s the name of a toy store that is SUPER fun and not just for kids! evidenced byt the photo below...

yeaaaaah. thats a keychain of a baby in a womb. creepy? maybe. hilarious- YES.
tammie... bouncing. and trying to look cute while doing it.

mini photo shoot prior to camera cards going AWOL.

its okay, i've found it impossible to take a picture of the sister that she actually likes. oh well.

iron cactus. FAVORITE. love the patio in austin and love the mexican martinis (better than margs)

sometimes its hard to take a close up witha  50mm. it's just all up in your grill.

my turn. oh my poor bangs.

we went to the gypsy picnic festival. basically a bunch of trailer food places came together and you got to go around to each of them and get some good food. good idea in theory, BAD execution. each line looked like it took an hour to wait in. just to get a small portion of food off of a limited menu for a not so cheap price. i was over it. we peaced and went to Freebirds. thanks, Ags.

the hubz and my dad. love them both SO much. and it is really cool to see their relationship grow and watch them gain more respect and love for each other!

mommmmmmy!

so this is where my mom waited in line to try a frosted doughnut with bacon. i heard it was DELISH. i totally would've been up for trying one!

aaaaaaaaand then my card died.

other things we did:
  • birthday dinner for tammie at Moonshine (i think was the name). it was good and they had popcorn as an appetizer. speakin' to my heart!
  •  tried the piano bar i was so excited about. disappointment for 3 reasons: 1. my parents backed out 2. my sister and her boyfriend backed out 3. we go there late and there was a high cover and it was too crowded to see.
  • met up with trev's friend Ashton, who is a manager at a boutique restaurant in austin. we hung out at this irish pub wich was SO FUN!
  • shopped. buffalo exchange, hello??? why have i never heard of it before?!? (resale shop of clothes... but they are super cute/trendy for the most part)
  • coffee shopped. spider house cafe... great outside patio. mozarts... beautiful location but coffee was a total disappointment.  halcyon... near 6th and while we didn't hang there, we definitely enjoyed the variety of options on the menu!
  • chinese food...best fried rice i'd had in a LONG time... can't remember the name, maybe mung's cafe?
have you been to austin? did you love/hate it?

also, forgot to do this on the last post during November, but it's time for my reason to be thankful:

i am thankful for mine and my husband's health
(i know that sounds like an older person thing to say (it's what my mom always says at thanksgiving). but we went to church last night and it was a thanksgiving meal where 3 people gave personal testimonies and thanked the Lord. one precious man stood up and told the story of his wife and how she was diagnosed with lou gherig's disease and lost all bodily functions over the years. she passed away last month. i mean, i just feel for this man and his family. but they have their hope in the Lord and have learned to trust without asking why. incredible. pray for them this thanksgiving. pray for them today. i don't even know this man, but i am encouraged by his faith.)

see you later, alligator. :)
