arkansas thanksgiving week

(PICS below the lengthy text)
well, here i am in arkansas. (let me just pause to say this: i know you think of arkansas and think of inbred cousins, bill clinton, and people who walk around with no shoes on. but it is not bad at all like that! it is actually quite pretty! and i really enjoy visiting!)

we've been here almost a week and i've loved every minute! of course i was nervous to spend a long period of time away from my own family during the holidays, but it turned out wonderfully and so fun. (even though i still miss my parents!)

highlights:
- food. lots of it. and all homemade.
- sister in law time. lots of it.
- completing a 1500 piece puzzle in 4 days. i LOVE puzzles.
- getting a discounted kitchen aid mixer!
- seeing Tangled
- eating buttery popcorn while seeing Tangled

lowlights:
- black. friday. (we stayed up all night and got in bed at 6am. i will only participate in cyber monday from now on!)

how our black friday went down:
stay up all night. hit old navy at 12:00pm. we then realize the lines are a minimum of 2 hours long and the prices were definitely marked up to be "50% OFF!" like a coat for 50 dollars... okay, not terrible, but the original price said $90. YEAH RIGHT... no way would old navy sell a coat for 90 dollars. 50% off was such a lie. and i can get $15.00 jeans at forever 21. (sorry for the complaining... be glad you weren't actually with me when i realized this at 1:00am)

then we went to walmart to pick up movies for friends who were waiting in long old navy line. we wait in the heated car for them to be done. then we drive to Kohls. get there 15 min. before it opens and see a CRAZY long line in the 19 degree weather. we get out of the car as soon as the doors open and i grab my kitchen aid. long story short: the kitchen aid was NOT the price i thought it was going to be... $199 ($150 off the original price). after getting irate at my mistake, i used a friends coupon, opened up a kohls CC and ended up getting it for 200 dollas! hollas!

then we head to best buy (get nothing) and finally mcdonalds (have you tried the cinna melts???? heaven in your mouth!) and headed home.

what is your black friday plan? i've decided if i ever decide to go again, i will use a plan like brittany did.
do you feel like the deals are really worth it?

lastly, a few pictures to make this post a little more interesting:

 christmas TREE!

 defocused lights!

okay so i'm getting a lot of joy out of playing with the camera... clearly!

my mom-in-law and grandmom-in-law with the SIX dogs here this week. crazzzzy.

what is this? a preview/blooper of our christmas cards! if you want one, email me your address! :) and yes, we are going cheezy style and MATCHY MATCHY!

lastly, here are a few pics taken with the tripod of me and trev (any other newlyweds that NEVER take pics together? yeah, i need to get on that! i won't want to be 40 and still have our wedding pictures all over the house for lack of other photos.
here are a few:

and due to it being thanksgiving:

i am thankful for being in love. love is just plain difficult! and ugly. and painful. and dirty. i wouldn't wish it on anyone! but if you're in it like i am, there are those times when all that difficulty is obnoxiously worth it. and when you realize it, you can't help but fall in love with being in love. even when its hard.

haha. you're ridiculous. yay for being in love.

yay for family time, regardless of whose family it is.

and i could never in a million years get kahler to take pictures w/ me in front of a tri-pod. he complains enough when i ask him for just ONE picture when someone else is taking it. ha!
