unfortunately, we didn't get to go. :( although, i probably would have been somewhat bored since i haven't seen a single one of the movies up for awards. well - i did see inception (did anyone see it in 3D? or IMAX? that would have been craaaaazy)
BUT. we planned on it. and we were assigned a movie to bring a related snack. we chose the King's Speech. so that i could make these tea sandwiches!!
i found a couple recipes by googling. but i kind of went with my own:
-3/4 cup cream cheese (softened)
-1/4 cup mayonaise
-1/2 to 3/4 cup rinsed and drained crushed pineapple (up to you how much you want!)
-1/4 cup chopped walnuts
-1 loaf of bread (i prefer thin slices of bread)
mix it all together. spread on a slice of bread, top with another slice (duh). cut off crusts and then cut into small triangles... OR buy a star, circle, or other fun shape cookie cutter. refrigerate for about an hour and then serve.
yum yum getchu some.
in other food related news.... we're having some of the camp's interns over for dinner and "entertainment" any ideas? we are thinking the following for food:
kebabs
twice baked potatoes
strawberry spinach salad
yes, i made this same meal last summer with some friends. love it. hubz is really good at grilling kebabs.
and for dessert..... ?
so many options. so hard to choose! any stellar recipes i should try???
maybe carrot cake? or ice cream bar cake? or sea salt caramel cupcakes? or just keep it simple with chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream?
