so i was REALLY excited/nervous to go. nervous because i felt a lot of pressure to have a really cool/creative/genius costume idea. you know? but then i got over that. so we went to walmart to get our costumes together.
the hubz and i had several ideas of what to go as:
-disney princesses (me as belle, him as jasmin)
-aladdin and jasmin (again, me as aladdin and him as jasmin... i don't think i'm concerned that he wanted to dress as a girl for halloween...)
-belle and lumiere
-our dogs, fred and jacob
-both of us going as Lady Gaga (have you been to walmart? great gaga costumes. hubzy couldn't fit into the XL :( )
-ghost and ghost buster
but we decided on dorothy and the tin man... because i already had the dorothy costume. score.
so hubz cut up boxes and spray painted them silver. then he had the brilliant idea that coloring his face with grey crayola's would give him the silvery face of the tin man. um, wrong. instead he spent the whole night looking dirty.
i just pulled out my old costume that probably hasn't been washed in WAY to long after WAY to many wears. i bought some cheap heels at walmart and painted them red and threw a whole bunch of red glitter on them.
here's a good pic of the end result (yes, i know my bangs are way too short. they'll be normal in about a week i guess! :) )
this is emily. also known as paula deen.
this is paula deen's butter.
these are mummy pops (chocolate covered oreos) i made for the party
and then i didn't take any more pictures. HAVE to get better at that. i got distracted.
all in all it was a fun night. my favorite costumes we're:
-courtney as an iPad (she was an "i" with feminine pads stuck all over her)
-people who dressed up as managers from the Ranch
-malcolm as lumiere (good thing we didn't do that!)
anywhoo... on another note, today is not just halloween. it is my sister's day of birth! she is turning 21! so of course i am hoping she'll celebrate with a drink. :)
have you met my sister?
she's the one on the right. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER!
Hope you have a grrrrreat birthday, lots of desserts, and i hope i find a present for you soon.... :)
