listy love

today is the day.
the day i break my diet for a bunch of wings slathered in spicy garlic and terryaki (sp?) sauce and potato wedges
i can't wait.

on a more serious note... LISTY TIME!!!

today's theme: registry mishaps!
my five dos and/or don't about registering for your wedding.

1. DO Register for TUPPERWARE.
you never have enough... that is my philosophy. i constantly find myself cursing because i don't have tupperware the perfect size for my irregular portion of leftover pasta. personally, i am a HUGE fan of name brand tupperware. exhibits a & b:
(this bottom pic is what i have... AMAZING... freeze it! microwave it! then realize that it is not warped nor does it contained bubbly, burnt plastic and a spaghetti sauce ring. JOY!)

2. DON'T register for something you don't LOVE
here was my problem: i chose 2 stores to register at... and i was generally pretty happy with everything and the selection... except. the bedding. but i'm an idiot (and lazy... WAY lazy) and decided it would be simpler and easier if we just picked something we liked the most at one of these 2 stores instead of getting 1 random item from another store... STUPID. so. moral of the story... don't register for something you "hate the least out of all the options" you will regret it later and then your hubz will get real annoyed that you don't like you $250 comforter. :(
here's my bedding lusts right now:
it would be too girly for trev i imagine... why can't men LOOOOOVE ruffles?!?!

love blues. all of them. i don't care if they are greyish, aquaish, darkish. it is true love.

3. DO get mom's advice
kitchen aid mixer... registry staple?  not. SHOCK? i know... i went to BB&B with my mom before i registered and she showed me some interesting things. the cuisinart mixer that was the kitchen aid's competitor was not as cute. however. for the same amount of moolah, it had over double the power. kitchen aid had 350 watts... the cuisinart had 800 watts. so ultimately what you are purchasing is the brand name and color... not the quality/effectiveness of the machine. now - my mom said all of this, yet owns a kitchen aid... so i ain't hatin. just observin.
mom also gave me great advice about what things on the list (you know...those general lists you can find in magazines or on the knot) were completely unnecessary. like certain glasses and serving items. mostly china. i get that some people loooooooove their china. but i work and live at a camp. my house is 900 sq. ft. and next to the housekeeping office... when am i going to need china?

4. DON'T go unprepared.
you can spend HOURS upon HOURS registering... especially if your hubzy is picky too. do some online research. have general ideas of what you need. then enjoy using the magical registry gun!!

5. DO get things you will use
don't waste people's money on something you KNOW you will use once a year. maybe. if you know you won't use a quesadilla grill... register for more electronics or decor that you can put to use!thing's i have yet to touch:
but i want too! i need a good bundt recipe!

...oh and the 1989083 skillets i have. you only need a few! :)

okay.. that was long. but i'm sure glad you read it!!! oh and have a happy whatever day you are reading this! :)
