let's see... what has happened??
well before i detail the current events, can i just share a recent obsession? DIY! mainly furniture and decor, but i think one day i could be up for tiling and intense renovation. ugh, i love it. who wants to see befores/afters? welllllllll i didn't take pictures for the trunk and table I just repainted, but next time? check out these blogs if you are interested in DIY/redecorating/girlyness:

they also totally inspired me to start blogging again. and so now i will begin the recap of the past month.
we got a dog! we are now proud parents of a mutt. his name is jacob. (anyone a twilight fan? :) we're not. because we hate edward. so we clearly stand on team jacob's side) he is beautiful, but annoyingly terrified of EVERYTHING. also, he can chew through any stuffed toy in 3 minutes flat. and he has chewed through my embroidered sky ranch blanket and begun work on trevor's heirloom quilt. grrrrr. picture below:
man i'm loving photography! did two engagements over easter. I'll post my faves from both when i'm done. i learn SO much each time! and, (drum roll music, please!) Trevor and I will be participating in photo 365 in my quest to use my camera at least everyday! starting NOW:
Beka came to visit me!!! she helped me with the table and trunk. from picking them up at goodwill to painting them. we also enjoyed much fattening food and crappy movies. i just need to say how much i love her. without a doubt one of my closest friends... regardless of how much we talk. plus she gets to hang out with all the christian royalty in dallas. here is just a few pictures from her shoot. haha, love it.
lastly, GET COMMUNITY. if you don't have it, get it. i am a different person without it. i have women who challenge me, love me, and who just want to know me. i cannot express my gratitude for the amazing girls that live around here. it is so crazy to see how the Lord brings people together and such a blessing when the unity glorifies him. man. what stirs my heart for the Lord? talking with other people who want the same thing... the Lord did not create us to live alone, to be alone with our thoughts, or figure out life...alone. we were created for intimacy. and i tend to forget that when intimacy gets annoying. but that little bit of annoying is worth the end result of maturity, feeling (yes, FEELING) of love, and accountability that ushers you to surrender and selflessness. i mean, i'm just sayin... the lord blesses us when he knows we need it most, and i needed this. thanks jman. (jesus duh!)
we want to go on a kick a vacation for our one year anniversary. we've looked at patagonia, europe (too cold during december/january) and are beginning to look at tropical locations. So, team, here is where you come in. Where should we go? What should we do? Here are the parameters: no where cold (during december/january) and no mexico (danger! danger!). okay, ready, set, go!!!

crap... so i just typed this whole long comment and then lost it somehow. let's see how much i can remember.
1. DIY- i soooo wished we lived closer together. have i ever mentioned that before? i can't wait to see pics! (and more blog updates!!)
2. puppy- yay! i'm diggin' the cute family photo. :) meanwhile, i'm still begging for one, knowing, in the back of my mind, i'm not ready.
3. i've said this a million times, but your photography is rockin'! (ps- i like where you're going with the 365- similar to my monthly recap, but way more intense. will you post them all?)
4. so happy you've found community/accountability/fellowship. i'm jealous. phone date soon?
5. YAY for anniversary vaca's! we're still tentatively planning ours, although there are a million factors that will determine if it actually pans out. thinking of ideas...
