bedroom business

...not that kind of business.

we are working on our bedroom, slowly.

backstory: i registered for bedding i absolutely hated. obviously, i didn't realize that until it was already purchased and then i thought i would learn to love it.

i didn't.

i also live in a house that we don't own. we were lucky enough to choose paint colors and the maintenance men painted the house for us (i know!). can someone please remind me why i wanted my bedroom painted the color of NACHO CHEESE?

because i sure don't remember.

so here i am with not-so-great bedding and tragic painted walls. the walls are still nachoed. i'm not sure i have it in me to paint them because i have no idea how long we'll be here (and frankly i just don't want to move the furniture). but i DID get some new bedding. pictures to come later. and i started actually decorating the room!

(see the nacho?)
this fan i got at trade days in Canton for $20.00! i am thinking about taking it apart and spray painting the wires a really funky bright color. not sure i want to commit to figuring that out though...

(excuse the hairbands and netflix paper!)
these letters i actually got at a local antique/junk shop, Ethel's. she has a booth at canton, too. the shutters will be painted... not sure what color though. i am thinking grey. or white. but i seem to want to paint everything white these days... boring/blogging-copy-cat?

another fun purchase from Ethel's. saw these at canton for $45 a pop! glad i bought mine for $10!

blue doily from canton. white pitcher $4.00 from Michaels.

more doilies from canton. for $2.00 a piece. kindofalittlebitobsessed with doilies right now.

this embroidered mini-runner is from canton as well... the next thing i want to buy is old embroidered pillow cases. i saw some for $3.00 a piece this weekend. so cute! especially since anthro is selling some cute embroidered stuff right now for wayyyy too much (at least for the Jordan budget).

i know what you're thinking of these picture frames... they don't match and they're cheesy.

i agree.

but they are also sentimental.
the jamaica one is from.... you guessed it! jamaica. where we got married.

the other is one hubz made for me one valentines day. we met at camp so that's why he went with that theme. funny? he spelled the name of the lake wrong... it's supposed to be lake san cristObal. oh well, it happens. i love him regardless of his spelling abilities. he wants to add the O but i won't let him. this will be a life-long laugh, thankyouverymuch.

i also bought some wall shelves. un pictured - but for the bedroom!

also i plan to hang some fabric-in-embroidery-hoops above the dresser.

so that's it for now. since canton is only 30 minutes away, i go often and only allow myself to a small budget each time! but i am on the look out for a headboard.... so i might have to drop more than a few bucks on that sucker.

:)
