what encourages me? truth.
this is the bible study i just started with the camp girls. it focuses on idolatry and i can tel you what i've learned so far... idols are things/people that we CHOOSE; have the POWER to put in their place... on the pedestal and in a place of worship. its ironic how they end up taking away our power. or rather, masking the Lord's power that is in us. they make us forget that we have a choice in the matter. we feel enslaved to their false power.
while that sounds depressing, it is actually so encouraging! the truth sets you free gives you hope that you're not the only one that is struggling! equips you to get through the rough spot. leads you to make the right decision. it is SO encouraging to be reminded of the Lord's will for your life.

yay! thanks for linking up! i suppose the fact that more than 2 people joined makes it somewhat successful!? :)
i love this. it also kind of lines up with day 23 (i think?) of our study. we allow things into our lives that we think will comfort us and bring us freedom, but in the end, we can so often become slaves to those things.
